Florida Islands September 05 - 07, 2014
Water is warm and clear! Visibility in the 25 to 30 meter (75 to 100') range! And water temperature continues to be bathtub like!
Sites this weekend included Babycakes, Ed's Wall, Njanjalakalau, Soso Village, Mbeaseri Point, Sandfly Passage, Nembalau Rock and Maravagi Village.
Sightings included crocodile fish, sea snakes, lots of nudis, Hawksbill turtles, puffers, and of course our lovely white tip reef sharks.
Thanks to Michelle and Michael for sharing your photos with us!
Absolutely FANTASTIC diving weekend with Solomon Islands Dive Expeditions, thank you very much to the crew and particularly Belinda who took me under her 'weight' belt on the dives. On Friday night I had only completed 5 dives... so very much a novice diver (and someone who is not very confident in the water)... and tonight I returned with 13 dives under my belt, my deepest depth was 31m, today I stayed around 15m because my ears were hurting. No WWII wrecks on this trip, it was all Wall Dives with LOTS of marine life with soft and hard coral. We did big boat diving, backwards off the Zodiac and a dusk/night dive, the conditions were mostly wonderful with the odd dive having massive current (the night dive)... Today, we had the floating markets (locals on banana boats) come up to the side of our boat selling fresh fruit and vegetables.
Had a great trip last weekend. Awesome diving, great staff and facilities. Really looking forward to doing it again in the near future.

Thanks to Belinda and the fantastic crew for 2 amazing dive trips. The professionalism of the team and friendliness and good humour will stand this operation in very good stead, I am sure. Oh and James's absolutely awesome scones, pizza, cakes and burgers too! All the very best and thank you for the fantastic Solomon's diving.
Thanks again to our wonderful guests for making this weekend so much fun! In addition to some great diving, we got to visit with some of the local villagers when they brought their canoes out with market produce.
Not sure what my favorite part of the weekend was but the shark action was hard to beat!
Belinda and the whole SIDE team!
