Florida Islands, August 22 - 24, 2014

What a great way to explore the Florida Islands - on board the MV Solomon Star and enjoying the amazing weather and diving!

The water is a warm 83F / 28C and we are almost too warm in our 3mm shorties!  Visibility is 40+ m (over 100') and our guests are describing the diving as exceptional!

Dive sites included Catalina, a bomber that went down as part of the WWII effort and is now a great wreck dive, Twin Tunnels (amazing as always!), Ed's Wall, and the aptly named Barracuda Point.

Next Trip to the Florida Islands is September 5 to 7.

Our guests enjoying their time on board the MV Solomon Star.

Thanks Belinda, Brendan and crew for an awesome weekend! Had an absolute blast - great dives, great service, great fun

It's hard to say what my favourite dive site was but Twin Tunnels is definitely one of them.  This site is a coral bommie approximately 120m in diameter and features two tunnels eroded in the edge of the reef and descending down to a common cavern.  It is an excellent dive for pelagics that are often present in the current.  The tunnel themselves are full of spectacular sea fans and fish of every hue.

Of course, the amazing diving is topped only by the amazing customers.  Thanks to the whole group for making our job so fun!

Belinda and the whole SIDE team!
